GOD BLESS OUR FIRST COMMUNION CLASS

We congratulate all of our students who will receive the Eucharist for the first time. May God bless each of you and your families as you make this journey to the Table of the Lord. We look forward to seeing you often and to be a part of many more celebrations in the future.

POPE BENEDICT XVI BRINGS THE HOPE OF CHRIST TO THE USA

Parishioners were overjoyed to witness the Papal Mass at Yankee Stadium in New York. The day was filled with a spiritual buffet of prayer, music, community and celebration. The Holy Father's historic visit made a huge impact on the Church in the United States and we are grateful for his message of hope that he brought to us.

THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT FESTIVAL!

Thanks to all who helped make our Annual Parish Festival so special and fun. We really appreciate all the hard work and dedication made by our volunteers. May God continue to bless us as we celebrate His love in all that we say and do.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY

At the Easter Vigil Mass our catechumens were baptized, received eucharist and were confirmed. We warmly welcome them into our parish family. May their faith continue to guide and direct them closer to Jesus Christ. May this Easter season be a blessed one for all. If you know of someone who would like to be fully initiated into the Catholic Church please call the Rectory.

LET US PRAY FOR THOSE IN NEED

If you, or someone you know, is in need of prayer, please contact the Rectory Office at (973) 376-3044 and we will add your request to our prayer list. Through the prayer of intercession, God will touch our hearts and bring us comfort, healing & peace. This may not always come in the form of what WE want, but will always come in the form of what WE need.

MY DEEPEST THANKS

My deepest thanks to all those who have sent Mass Cards, Spiritual Bouquets, flowers and gifts in remembrance of my mom, Renea J. Worth, who died on January 4, 2008 in the company of her loving family. Renea's legacy of love will be felt by all for years to come. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Forever grateful, her son, Fr. Jim Worth & Family.

OUR FIRST CHURCH ON MORRIS AVENUE

Every once in a while, it's good to take a look back and see where we came from and remember our humble beginnings. Our first church building, now a bank, was built for the people of Springfield by the sweat of their brows and the generosity of their hearts. This simple, little church has grown from a handful of families to almost 1800 families. We thank God for our growth and especially for our birth.

OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE PRAY FOR US

In the Nave of our church, we have a Marian Shrine with a sculpture of Our Lady of Guadalupe, also known as, Our Lady of the Americas. We celebrate her life, along with that of Saint Juan Diego, who was the humble visionary who brought her message by way of roses. We thank God for the great gift of Mary, our Mother, who constantly guides and protects us on our earthly journey. Our Lady of the Americas, pray for us. Amen.
